Hours: 10-20 weekly

FairVote Minnesota is seeking a diverse and energetic group of part-time, temporary organizers who will work directly with the field director in expanding its volunteer base and training volunteer recruits in grassroots voter outreach. Organizers will plan, organize and conduct door-knocks, phone banks and other volunteer voter contact efforts aimed at ensuring all Minneapolis voters are ready to rank their ballots Nov. 5.
A nonpartisan, nonprofit public interest group working for better democracy through public education and advocacy, FairVote Minnesota is collaborating with Minneapolis city elections staff to educate Minneapolis voters about this years Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) city election.

Ability to develop strong relationships with people from diverse backgrounds, and ability to motivate and organize volunteers to effectively educate fellow voters
Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment
Excellent personal accountability and follow-through
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills; experience and skill conducting group presentations
Passion for, and demonstrated commitment to, community organizing and civic engagement
Effective at proposing new ideas and comfortable working in a team environment
Flexibility, political savvy and a sense of humor
Experience working in African American, East African, Asian or Latino communities
