Looking back for a way forward – Dave Durenberger speaks to the need for Ranked Choice Voting in his new book

“If the past allows us to better understand the future, then When Republicans Were Progressive lights the way to a moderate party: one that truly values the future and the children who will inherit it,” writes former Minnesota Governor Arne Carlson about a new and compelling book by retired three-term U.S. senator Dave Durenberger and Star Tribune editorial writer/columnist Lori Sturdevant.

Mr. Durenberger describes an era when Republicans and Democrats worked together to create policies on behalf of all Americans. Like many of his generation, he bemoans the crippling partisanship that has taken hold of our country and believes it will take significant reforms, including Ranked Choice Voting, to fix it.

FairVote Minnesota is delighted to be hosting a conversation with Dave Durenberger and Lori Sturdevant on Monday, Oct. 29 from 4:30-6 p.m.
