MINNEAPOLIS -- Voters in the Mill City will give the ranked choice voting system another big test in November, but this year those second and third choices will matter more.
October 10, 2013 (Minneapolis) -- Thanks in part to the fact that newly procured voting equipment across the metro area is RCV-capable, an already smooth process is set to become even more seamless.
These Minneapolis candidates are on board: Mark Andrew, Jackie Cherryhomes, Dan Cohen, Bob Fine, Betsy Hodges, Don Samuels, Cam Winton and Stephanie Woodruff.
Minneapolis is a wonderful place to live on this, we all agree. (Indeed, its one of the main reasons were all seeking the privilege of being your next mayor!) We have beautiful parks, friendly residents and welcoming neighborhoods. Our city is full of hardworking, civically engaged citizens.
We might all have different ideas about how to keep moving Minneapolis forward, but we all benefit from the opportunity to share our ideas in a strong, accessible democracy. Voters should have more freedom and choices, and every voter deserves an equal voice in our elections.
