Gubernatorial candidates strong on Ranked Choice Voting at State Fair Debate

The Uptake and AM 950 hosted a debate among DFL candidates for governor at the State Fair September 1st.  Candidates included Tom Bakk, Mark Dayton, Matt Entenza, Susan Gaertner, Steve Kelley, Tom Rukavina and Paul Thissen.

Following introductions, the debate led off with a question about Ranked Choice (Instant Runoff) Voting.

All of the candidates, less Senator Bakk, responded favorably and strongly in support of this electoral reform, highlighting the importance of demonstrating that it can work well at the municipal level in Minneapolis and Saint Paul if adopted there as the way to advance this important reform statewide.
