  • Jeanne Massey

    , Executive Director

    Jeanne Massey is a Ranked Choice Voting and electoral reform powerhouse. Before becoming executive director of FairVote Minnesota, she led the successful Minneapolis Better Ballot Campaign to adopt RCV in 2006 and, not surprisingly, is a frequent media resource on electoral reform. Jeanne brings more than 25 years of experience in nonprofit leadership and community planning and organizing. A former Peace Corps volunteer in Costa Rica,  she holds an M.A. in regional & community planning and a B.A. in business & Spanish. Jeanne is active in her community and has served on several community and nonprofit boards.

  • Heather Klindworth

    , Director of Campaigns

    Heather joined FairVote Minnesota in 2017, and brings a wealth of campaign experience, including volunteer management, building and managing large relationship networks, fundraising and budgeting. Heather most recently was campaign manager for a Minnesota legislative candidate, and earlier worked as the Development Manager at the National Kidney Foundation.

    Heather has a master’s degree in International Peace and Conflict Resolution, with an emphasis on identity and culture, from American University in Washington, D.C. She currently lives in Maple Grove.

  • Liz Johnson

    , State Outreach Director

    Liz Johnson brings extensive political and organizing experience to her role as State Outreach Director of FairVote Minnesota. She helped found and still serves as a board member at VoteRunLead, a national organization that supports the aspirations of women who want to transform our country and democracy through their participation as leaders. As a former Director of Community and Operations at VRL and Director of Rural Programs at The White House Project, Liz has worked with countless women leaders to inspire, inform and equip them to pursue positions of influence and elective office. A leader in the design and implementation of training programs for rural women, Liz also helped create Plate to Politics, a program of the Women Food and Agriculture Network. She is a member of the board of the Hmong American Farmers Association and First Witness Child Advocacy Center, and a recipient of the Minnesota Women’s Press Change Maker award.

  • Karl Landskroener

    , Field Director

    Karl joined FairVote Minnesota in August 2017 as the Field Director. He previously worked as a regional field organizer for a congressional campaign, as well as for a U.S. Senate and Chicago alderman campaign. Karl has a degree in political science, with a minor in European history, from Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina. He lives in Saint Paul.

  • Kelly O'Brien

    Kelly O'Brien

    , Director of Communications

    Kelly O’Brien joined FairVote in 2018 but her experience with Ranked Choice Voting goes back to the 2006 Better Ballot Campaign in Minneapolis, where she served as communications lead. Her long career in communications has included experience in higher ed and the arts, with a big dose of politics and issue advocacy on the side. She lives in Minneapolis.

  • Brian Bosire

    , Organizer

    FairVote Minnesota Field Organizer Brian Bosire has come a long way, literally! Born in Kenya, Brian moved to the United States in 2002 for better educational opportunities. Raised in an environment where community values were championed, Brian was drawn to social-political issues. He earned a bachelor's degree in social science from Metropolitan State University and has since worked as an organizer for political and non-profit organizations. Brian credits his experience in organizing with inspiring him to seek a master's degree in advocacy and political leadership, which he plans to leverage as an advocate for social, political and economic issues.

  • Matt Lasnier

    Matt Lasnier

    , Organizer

    Matt has a bachelor's degree in history and economics from St. Olaf College. Having interned on congressional campaigns and at the Minnesota Capitol, he has witnessed and grown frustrated with a politics increasingly fixated on narrow questions as larger problems mount. Matt believes that ranked choice voting is one component of structural electoral reform that will combat this trend, and he is determined to help bring that bipartisan message to a broader range of Minnesota voters. 
  • Nolan Schmidt

    , Organizer

    Nolan graduated with dual bachelors degrees in political science and history from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities in spring 2018. While a student, he studied research methods in political theory and Eastern Europe. Nolan’s passion? Creating a democracy that works for everyone. So it’s no surprise that he has lent his energy and expertise to Get Out the Vote and student registration initiatives at UMN, as well as interned with FairVote Minnesota in 2013 and 2014. We are delighted to welcome him back as a FairVote Minnesota field organizer in 2018. 

  • Cindy Bielke

    , Consultant

    Cindy Bielke, owner of C-Change Communications, provide communications support primarily through through writing and content development as well as media relations strategy.

    , Consultants

    Kristen McMullen and Richard Carlbom from United Strategies provide political strategy and fundraising support, building on their successful work in the passage of Minnesota’s marriage equality act.
